Baltimore, MD (May 9, 2019) – Quinn Evans Architects has added seven architects and designers to its Washington, D.C., professional staff. The combined experience of the new team members reflects expertise in the planning and design of educational facilities, mixed-use communities, multifamily residential buildings, museums, and theaters, as well as complex historic preservation projects.
Stefan Zastawski, RA, NCARB, has joined Quinn Evans Architects as a senior architect. Zastawski has 25 years of design and project management experience in the Mid-Atlantic, with numerous projects completed for the Architect of the Capitol, the National Park Service, the U.S. General Services Administration, and the Smithsonian Institution. He holds a Master of Architecture (1995), Certificate in Historic Preservation (1995), and a Bachelor of Science in Architecture (1993), all from the University of Maryland. Zastawski is a member of the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB), the National Trust for Historic Preservation, and the Association for Preservation Technology.
Nathan Picotte, RA, LEED AP, has also joined the firm as a senior architect. Picotte has nearly 15 years of architectural experience. His portfolio includes several projects for the Smithsonian Institution, including work at the National Museum of American History, the National Museum of the American Indian, and the National Zoological Park. He holds a Master of Architecture with a Certificate in Historic Preservation (2010) from the University of Cincinnati, and a Bachelor of Science in Architecture (2002) from the University of Michigan.
David Leestma, AIA, and Jessica Stuck, AIA, have joined the firm as project architects. David Leestma has several years of experience in the Washington metropolitan area, including work on several mixed-use, multifamily residential and adaptive use projects. He is also a University of Maryland graduate, with a Master of Architecture (2015), an Urban Design Certificate (2015), and a Bachelor of Science in Architecture (2013). Leestma is a member of the American Institute of Architect’s (AIA) DC Emerging Architects Committee.
Jessica Stuck brings several years of experience in design and construction administration to the firm, with numerous projects completed throughout the Northeast and the Mid-Atlantic. She also served as an instructor at her alma mater, Kent State University, for several years, with a focus on the field of historic preservation. Stuck holds a Master of Architecture (2013), a Bachelor of Science in Architecture (2012) and a Bachelor of Arts in History (2012), all from Kent State University. She is a member of the AIA.
Nicholas Knodt, AIA, has joined the firm as a staff architect. Knodt has extensive experience in the design of higher education, museum, and theater facilities, primarily in the Northeast. He holds a Master of Architecture (2014) from the University of Virginia and a Bachelor of Arts (2010) from the College of Wooster.
Bryan Asson and Daniel Alhadeff have joined Quinn Evans Architects as staff designers. Asson holds a Master of Architecture (2018) from the University of Maryland and a Bachelor of Architecture (2015) from Morgan State University. Alhadeff has worked on design projects throughout the Mid-Atlantic and southeastern U.S. He holds a Master of Science in Architecture (2014) and a Master of Science in City and Regional Planning (2014) from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
