Baltimore, MD (January 7, 2020) — Hord Coplan Macht (HCM) announces its selection as design team leaders for the new “Promise Project” at the Greater Baltimore Medical Center (GBMC) in Towson, Maryland. This new $65 million project is slated for completion in the summer of 2023.
The “Promise Project” will be a three-story expansion located in front of the existing main lobby and between two existing wings, to align with the existing third (on grade), fourth and fifth floors of the hospital. The ground floor of the building (3rd floor) will house new patient, family and staff support space. The upper two floors will contain 30 inpatient beds each, with additional patient, family, and clinical support spaces.
“We look forward to working with the team at GBMC on this expansion to their existing facility to design the new inpatient units, featuring their integrated care practice, as well as the expanded patient, family and staff amenity spaces” Hord Coplan Macht Principal, Jim Albert, said.
HCM will begin working with GBMC immediately on planning and design efforts. Documents are anticipated to be complete by fall 2020 with construction beginning in 2021. HCM’s services for the project include architecture, interior design, landscape architecture and graphic design/wayfinding.
