Dear Saint. Wenceslaus,
You are my favorite building in Baltimore not only because you are beautiful, but also because my mother’s family’s American life began there. When they came to Baltimore from Czechoslovakia, they settled in your shadow. They were married in your church. They baptized their babies in your church. Their children went to your school. Their funerals were held in your church. I still like going to Mass there when I’m able. Your beautiful church reminds me of my mother’s family’s roots.
