#GivingTuesday is on December 1. Much of what the Baltimore Architecture Foundation does depends on contributions from individual donors. How can your donation make a difference?
2020 has been a challenging year. BAF rose to the challenge by quickly adapting to COVID-19. Since the pandemic began, BAF has launched a new website, created a new series of weekly virtual programs, transformed Doors Open into a virtual event, and moved offices to the new Center for Architecture and Design.
All this could not be possible without your support. Lost revenue from in-person programs and reduced corporate sponsorship has made contributions from individual donors more important than ever.
How can your donation make a difference?
By promoting the value of architecture to the public. We launched the free weekly Virtual Histories Series with Baltimore Heritage offering a diverse collection of live presentations focusing on Baltimore’s architectural history and future. Doors Open Baltimore pivoted to an all month program with over 40 programs throughout October. See recording on our Youtube Channel.
By supporting the next generation of architects. We launched the virtual Lunch with an Architect Series connecting Middle and High School students with local architects. And we’ve been able to continue offering our Fellows Leadership Scholarship to exceptional Morgan State University undergraduates studying architecture, and our Future Architects Resources Award to architecture students at Community College, Undergraduate, and Graduate School levels.
By telling the stories of Maryland’s architecture and architects. Our new website includes an updated architect biographies section and resources to help you with architectural research. Say It Loud, our new exhibition in collaboration with Bmore NOMA, will tell the stories of minority architects past and present. The exhibition will open in 2021 at the Center for Architecture and Design.
Donate To Baltimore Architecture Foundation
Support the Center for Architecture and Design with a Contribution to the Center Fund
AIA Baltimore and BAF have launched the Center Fund: a capital campaign to raise $1 million to support the Baltimore Center for Architecture and Design. The Center Fund has been seeded with $500,000. Your support will help us achieve our goal to establish a dynamic design hub to engage professionals, students, and the public. Shared exhibition and gallery spaces, studios, classrooms, and event spaces will offer engaging new programming on architecture, urban design, neighborhood history, historic architecture and new design projects.
