Baltimore, MD – Scott McGovern, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, Senior Associate for Design Collective, Inc. was elected President of the Baltimore Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) for 2021.
AIA is a national organization providing advocacy, leadership and resources for architects to design a better world. AIA Baltimore, celebrating its 150th Anniversary in 2021, is one of the five oldest chapters in the country. It is governed by a 15-member Board of Directors consisting of President, President-Elect, Secretary, Treasurer, and eleven Directors.
Scott has served as an active member of AIA Baltimore since 2009, serving on the Design Awards Committee and as its co-chair, and holding offices as President-Elect in 2020, Secretary in 2019, Treasurer in 2018, and as a Director from 2014-2018.
Scott works fluidly across many of Design Collective’s sectors including K-12 educational facilities, student housing and multi-family housing. Currently, he is serving as Project Manager on Woodlin Elementary School Replacement for Montgomery County Public Schools and recently completed the Colgate Elementary School for Baltimore County Public Schools and The Altus at Towson Row student housing project for Gilbane Development Corporation.
