AIA Baltimore is pleased to announce the promotion of two staff members.
Katherine Somerville, promoted to Associate Director of Education and Programs, has been with AIA Baltimore since July 2022. In this role she facilitates continuing education opportunities for members, manages major events including the Excellence in Design Awards and Doors Open Baltimore, and supports organizational development for Baltimore Architecture Foundation. Prior to joining AIA Baltimore Katherine has held positions at the American Horticultural Society, the Octagon, a small historic house museum under the ownership of AIA National, and as a middle school classroom teacher. Katherine holds an M.A. in Museum Studies from Buffalo State College, an M.S. in Curriculum and Instruction from McDaniel College, and a B.A. in Political Science and French. Originally hailing from the Buffalo, NY-area, Katherine has lived in the city of Baltimore for three years.
Meghan Hudson, promoted to Membership & Communications Manager, has been with AIA Baltimore since April 2022. Her work encompasses social media management, content marketing and public relations for AIA Baltimore, Baltimore Architecture Foundation and Maryland ASLA. Additionally, she supports AIA Baltimore’s annual membership & sponsorship renewal process. Prior to working for AIA Baltimore, Meghan was a student at Towson University where she received a B.S. in Mass Communication. Having always been creatively inclined, Meghan joined Towson University’s newspaper, The Towerlight, where she ultimately served as Editor-in-Chief. She continues to serve The Towerlight as a board member for their publishing company, Baltimore Student Media.
