Brian Uher Joins Hord Coplan Macht as Director of Sustainability

Hord Coplan Macht (HCM), an award-winning integrated architecture, interiors, landscape design, and planning firm, is pleased to announce the addition of Brian Uher, MS, MSE as Director of Sustainability. In his new role, Uher will champion sustainable strategies in the design and operation of high-performance and equitable buildings across the firm.

With 20 years of experience in energy efficiency and decarbonization, Uher is a forward-thinking strategist known for his strong analytical, financial modeling, and system design skills. He has successfully led teams and programs to deliver innovative energy efficiency solutions. With a proven track record in cross-division communication and expertise in developing cost-effective, technology-based energy and  management solutions for commercial, residential, and municipal buildings, Uher is well-equipped to advise the firm’s leadership and clients on sustainability-focused best practices and initiatives.

His leadership will foster a culture of curiosity around sustainability, ensuring firm leaders remain at the forefront of key developments and insights that will shape future projects.

Prior to joining HCM, Uher focused on smart buildings and cost-effective energy solutions in the residential and mixed-use real estate markets in the D.C. area and managed over 200 energy efficiency projects in over four states for Verizon in the Mid-Atlantic region. Now appointed as Director of Sustainability with HCM, Uher is fully committed to leveraging the tools he has gained throughout his career to empower his new team and drive success in this pivotal role.
