Baltimore, MD (January 23, 2018) — Hord Coplan Macht announced today that Christopher Rice, AIA has joined the firm as Principal in its education studio. With over 30 years of experience in the field, Rice will help grow HCM’s national campus master planning practice with focused efforts in the southern U.S. and Texas.
Rice brings a wide range of experience to HCM, including his involvement in master plans for over 30 higher education campuses around the United States, as well as various research parks, downtown urban plans, healthcare and government facilities. Most recently focusing on the Texas area, Rice worked on campus master plans for the Texas A&M San Antonio, Corpus Christi, and Kingsville campuses, as well as Texas State University San Marcos, University of Texas Brownsville, and the University of North Texas at Dallas.

Prior to joining HCM, Rice was Partner at VisSpiro Strategies, a higher education planning and consulting firm that he co-founded in 2013. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from University of Texas at Arlington and a Master of Architecture from University of Maryland.
