York, PA (March 29, 1018) – Kinsley Construction, Inc was awarded a first-place national Excellence in Construction Eagle Award from Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc. (ABC) for the renovation of Bucknell University’s Roberts Hall.
The 61,000-sq-ft project transformed the university’s traditional, four-story dormitory into a LEED®-certified, modern residence facility. From December 2015 through August 2016, Kinsley renovated the space to house 136 students and made upgrades to the facility’s entrance, kitchens on the first and third floors, ADA accessibility, life safety and security systems, game rooms, TV lounges, meeting spaces and courtyards.
“Being nationally recognized for the Roberts Hall project at Bucknell University is a great honor for Kinsley,” said Jan Wagner, Vice President at Kinsley. “This acknowledgement is due to the outstanding day-to-day efforts of the project team, including our Superintendents, Dave Erney and Gerry Rangel, and Project Manager, Dave Yantis.”
The Excellence in Construction awards program is the industry’s leading competition, developed to honor innovative and high-quality merit shop construction projects, with an Eagle Award presented to the top project in each category. The award honors all construction team members, including the contractor, owner, architect and engineer. The winning projects, selected from entries submitted from across the nation, were judged on complexity, attractiveness, unique challenges overcome, completion time, workmanship, innovation, safety and cost.
