Oxen Hill, MD (July 11, 2016) – County and state officials joined a ribbon cutting ceremony for the MGM National Harbor’s Recruitment and Training Center on June 21, 2016. A joint venture between Kinsley Construction and Gilford Construction provided construction management for the 25,000-sq-ft adaptive reuse project, which converted an existing public elementary school for MGM National Harbor’s training purposes. Training at the center will support the creation of 3,500 new jobs, forty percent of which are set-asides for Prince Georges County residents.
As part of the renovation, students from John Hanson French Immersion School and Fort Foote Elementary School created ceramic art tiles that are displayed on the walls of the renovated facility. “Kinsley is proud to have facilitated the involvement of local students in the renewal of this building,” said Scott Moffat, Kinsley’s project manager. “Our success in delivering on MGM’s goal to preserve this piece of Prince George’s history, while engaging and supporting the community, made this project especially rewarding for Kinsley and our team members.”
