Lauren Bostic Hill, Assoc. AIA started as AIA Baltimore Executive Director in March 2022. Lauren came to AIA Baltimore after nearly twenty years in architecture firms, nonprofit organizations and higher education, most recently in International Education at Maryland Institute College of Art. She holds a Bachelor of Science in architecture from the University of Virginia, Master of Architecture and Master of urban planning degrees from the University of Michigan, and Master of Arts in intercultural communication from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. Lauren previously served on the AIA Maryland Board of Directors as an Associate Director, was a Mid-Atlantic Regional Associate Director, and was a member of the AIA Board Diversity and Inclusion Council.

 

Katherine Somerville

Associate Director, Education & Programs

Katherine Somerville facilitates continuing education opportunities for members, serves as a liaison to multiple committees, and manages Baltimore Architecture Foundation programs and events. Prior to joining AIA Baltimore in 2022 as the Education and Outreach Manager, Katherine held positions at the American Horticultural Society, the Octagon, a small historic house museum under the ownership of AIA in Washington DC, and as a middle school classroom teacher. Katherine holds an M.A. in museum studies from Buffalo State College, an M.S. in curriculum and instruction from McDaniel College, and a B.A. in political science and French. Originally hailing from the Buffalo, New York area, Katherine has lived in Baltimore for four years and has come to love shorter winters, urban pocket parks, and grapefruit crushes.

Nia Anthony

Member Engagement Coordinator

Nia works as the Member Engagement Coordinator for AIA Baltimore, supporting members and encouraging their retention and participation in the Baltimore Chapter. Prior to AIA Baltimore, Nia worked as a political fundraiser for a local Baltimore firm, an advisor for Warby Parker and worked for her Alma Mater, Goucher College as a Career Mentor while earning her BA in International Relations. Additionally, she worked in a creative capacity as the Opinion and Sundry Editor of The Quindecim, a choreographer for Goucher’s Dancers of Color Coalition and is a trained vocalist and dancer. Nia’s interest in architecture comes from spending many hours building in her favorite game – The Sims. When she’s not at AIA Baltimore, she enjoys Baltimore restaurant scene, cooking elaborate Sunday dinners, watching horror movies with her partner, and over- feeding her beloved cats, Ella and Lucifer.
