This third session will cover Practice Management and Project Management\, including an overview of the exam\, resources\, practice questions\, and study tips. Each subsequent session will focus on a different division.  \nPreparing for the AREs? Don’t know where to start or need some motivation? Looking for a study buddy or guidance from licensed peers? The ART program helps to prepare applicants for the AREs. Each session will be organized around a specific ARE 5.0 exam division and led by members of the Emerging Professionals Committee to include those who’ve recently passed exams and/or subject matter experts. Two-hour sessions will include:\n– An in-depth review of resources on specific topics including recommended chapters\, videos etc. \n– Q & A \n– Quiz Games! \nThis session will be hybrid\, offering virtual and in-person attendance options. DESCRIPTION:1.5 AIA CES LUs available \nEmerging Professionals Licensure and ARE Prep Kick-Off! \nGuest speaker from the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB) will present on a range of licensure topics relevant to students\, interns\, supervisors\, architects\, and people in the architecture profession. The presentation will review the steps necessary to achieve licensure to become an architect and other programs to get the most out of your career in architecture. A representative from Maryland’s DLLR Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing department speaking on state-specific requirements for licensure. \n  \nMartin Smith\, AIA\, NCARB\, LEED Green Associate \nAssistant Vice President\, Experience + Education \nMartin Smith joined NCARB in 2009 when he was hired to develop and expand NCARB’s outreach efforts to universities and the profession. Today he has an important role in the development and oversight of the Architectural Experience Program® (AXP®)\, Architect Licensing Advisors Program\, alternative programs for NCARB Certification\, and additional programs within the Experience + Education directorate. \nSmith has 10 years of architectural design and construction management experience. He has worked for architectural firms in New York City and New Canaan\, CT. His projects varied from single and multi-family residential projects to commercial and university buildings\, with a focus on adaptive re-use and historic preservation projects. \nSmith holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Syracuse University and is licensed to practice architecture in the state of New York. He is a member of the American Institute of Architects\, has achieved the qualification of LEED Green Associate\, and holds the NCARB Certificate for national reciprocity. \n  \nNicholas R. Respecki\, AIA\, NCARB \nManager\, Examination Development \nNicholas Respecki is a Manager of Examination Development at NCARB. In this position\, he works primarily on development of the Architect Registration Examination® (ARE®). \nPrior to joining NCARB\, Respecki worked as an architect and designer for multiple firms in Washington\, DC. He has experience in all phases of design and construction\, with work primarily focused on large scale university\, sports\, healthcare\, and cultural projects. \nRespecki holds a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of Architecture degree from Ball State University in Muncie\, IN. The program is organized as a series of study sessions which extend over a six month period. Sessions are proctored by piers who have recently completed Registration. A course schedule would be available on the AIA Baltimore website later this fall. \nAbout the Presenters \n\n \nNicholas R. He is a registered architect in Virginia and Indiana\, and has extensive volunteer leadership experience.
