Baltimore, MD (April 7, 2016) – Henry Adams‘ own Adam Palanker spent a day helping out at the Maryland School for the Blind. He helped build and heavily modify the electrical systems to power wheels in order to adapt them for children with special needs. This was completed as part of the Go Kids Go program. It’s estimated that the program has retrofitted 100 power wheels to date.
Go Kids Go, founded by Cole Galloway, strives to provide mobility to children with cognitive or physical disabilities by closing the “exploration gap.” Galloway describes the gap as the difference between typically developing children and those who suffer from mobility issues due to conditions like cerebral palsy and Down syndrome. Using modified power wheels, these young explorers are able to become mobile during critical early years of development.
