Artist’s Statement:
Baltimore has always been attracting me with its diversity. Walking around discovering interesting architecture and scenery has become one of my favorite things to do. Painting on site allows me to capture the unique moments I experience, expressing the immediacy in a way can never be reached by painting from photos. I hope to communicate with the viewers in a visual language that is honest and sincere, and I find representational realism translating the best between the natural world and the two dimensional surface. While painting plein-air, I spent hours being with my subject, sometimes surrounded by it, which brings even more joy to the process. I wish to bring the scenery alive with my brushes that are always working, my eyes that are always observing, and my heart that never stops feeling.
