Geraldine Pontius, AIA received her Masters of Architecture degree from Columbia University before beginning her career as an architect in New York with I. M. Pei & Partners. Pontius came to Baltimore in 1989 to work for RTKL as a vice principal of the firm and became an active member of AIA Baltimore, having founded the AIA Baltimore Technology in Practice Committee in 1998. She served on the Board of Directors from 2000 to 2001.
Drawings which brought Pontius promotion to Senior Designer at Kohn Pederson Fox will be on view in the bookstore. Exhibited in the AIA Baltimore Gallery will be her photographs of New York’s Tribeca and student work.
Pontius received her art education at Columbia University, the Corcoran School of Art, The New York Studio School of Drawing, Painting & Sculpture, The Art League, and the International Center for Photography. In her decades-long studio art practice, Pontius has developed her drawing, painting and photography projects as a way of investigating thoughts outside the traditional practice of architecture.
