Wilmington, DE (July 17, 2017) – Wohlsen Construction Company celebrated the ribbon cutting ceremony for CSC’s New Global Headquarters in Wilmington, Delaware on June 27, 2017.
Designed by NORR, the 148,000 SF corporate headquarters embraces the look and feel of the Brandywine Valley with wood and stone accents. Reaching four-stories, the office includes many small group collaboration spaces, conference rooms, a large training room, lobby, café, fitness center and board room in the executive suite.
The project offers several green initiatives, including a green roof, a rainwater harvesting system for irrigation, a 4.5-acre meadow with walking trails and a total of 336 trees planted on-site. Daylight harvesting occurs via solar shade controls and lighting controls, which are found throughout the building. The building also includes an Under-Floor Air Distribution system for efficient climate control. A separate 680-car parking garage was also built to accommodate employees.
CSC’s project leader, Scott Malfitano stated, “Our vision was to create a signature, best-in-class, global headquarters campus that will serve CSC for at least the next 20 years. We have worked to incorporate ‘green’ elements and preserve open space while also focusing on the health and happiness of our employees—our most important asset—and we think we’ve achieved that. This is an accomplishment we hope our people, the community, and the state can be proud of.”
During the ceremony, Rod Ward, President & CEO of CSC, stated this project was finished “on-time and on-budget”. Wohlsen is proud to celebrate this accomplishment and be part of CSC’s continued success.
